Dear Levin Pistol Club member
In the recent committee meeting, we reviewed some of the rules we have established for the club recently.
We thought it is timely to send out some sections as a reminder to you all, with the new clubs and ranges processes being introduced by Police.
This is to ensure the club is well ahead of some of the requirements Police that are rolled out.
The following we have communicated in the past but have not been combined into guidance as single page;
Current Levin Pistol Club (LPC) Financial Members
1. For 2022-2023 all members are required to maintain their own attendance record and hand this in to the LPC club captain prior to the 2023 AGM.
2. From the 1st of January 2022 all members are to wear their ID badges when in the club rooms and on the range. Range officers are to ensure they are worn.
3. There are two parts to obtaining the LPC ID within 4 weeks of the AGM:
a. Paying the annual subscription for the financial year
b. Submitting the annual renewal form to the Secretary.
4. Unaccompanied members who attend the outdoor range need to have a B Endorsement on the Firearms License and have a Range Officer certificate.
New Members
1. All new LPC members start as Probationary members and are required to apply to the LPC committee to obtain full membership (after a minimum of 6 months of probationary membership). Probationary members are required to complete the Application form for the LPC full membership form and submit this to the LPC secretary.
2. There will be a $10 range fee for each one of the three trial shoots.
3. New members cannot start at the outdoor range. Every new member must complete safety training at the indoor range first and follow the LPC training program which includes attending the outdoor range.
4. The minimum of 12 shoots in 6 months, as required to attain a ‘B’ endorsement, must be completed at the indoor range.
5. It is a club requirement to get Club Range Officer certification to enable a probationary member to become a full member. This is also assists you when applying for a B endorsement.
6. New members, who transfer from other clubs, can become full members as soon as the club secretary and PNZ has received a completed and satisfactory club transfer form. They are still required to complete the process outlined in the above bullet point 3.
